Tribopolymer and plain bearing specialist igus has introduced the drylin SLT-BB spindle-driven linear axis and the drylin SLW-25120 spindle linear module. Both models have been specifically developed for machines and equipment used in the food and beverage industry, fulfilling specific design requirements concerning installed size and load-bearing capacities.

drylin SLT-BB

The high-capacity, compact design size and lubricant-free operation of the drylin SLT-BB makes it suitable for automation applications in food and beverage machinery, including vending machines. A minimum linear-axis installation height of 20mm and an installation width of 45mm can be achieved thanks to the lateral positioning of the spindle next to the linear guide system.

The low-profile, sturdy design of the drylin SLW-25120 makes it ideal for demanding positioning tasks. This spindle linear module can transport up to 1,000kg radial load, and an axial load of up to 250kg is possible.

As all of the bearing points of the drylin products are lubricant free and dry running, they do not attract dirt and debris. Their maintenance-free operation is claimed to significantly lower operating costs.

  • This compact linear axis weighs only 0.15kg with a manual or motor drive both being possible. 
  • Movement can be fast as well as effortless and smooth, with a maximum rotational speed of 1,000rev/min and a maximum linear speed of 1.5m/min.
  • The ball-bearing spindle is available with trapezoidal or steep thread; in addition, a range of thread gradients is available ex-stock.
  • The bearing clearance can be adjusted using the complementary drylin TWE-04-12 T-miniature slide.

drylin SLW-25120

  • Despite its high load-bearing capacity, this module has a flat and compact design and is therefore easy and flexible to install.
  • It is suitable for manual-format adjustments as well as for electrical adjustment, and is connected to a motor via a flange or coupling.
  • The module is equipped with a torsion-resistant aluminium double-shaft profile, a hard-anodised rail and thermoplastic high-performance plain bearings.
  • The linear module achieves high stability and a maintenance-free drive.
