Jun-Air oil-less compressors and rocking pistons from Gast Group are being used in Heineken’s Orion and Cellar-beer dispense systems, which are designed for large venues, medium-sized hotels, restaurants and cafes or where the high turnover of beer means traditional loose beer kegs are not viable.

Each beer dispense system consists of a series of 250-, 500- or 1,000-litre stainless steel tanks, which are installed in either a cold room or water-cooled insulated beer tank, are regularly filled from a beer truck or road tanker.

The Heineken systems use oil-free compressed air from Jun-Air OF312/OF1202 compressors (Cellar-beer) or Gast 82R rocking pistons (Orion) to pressurise the tanks.

Benefits of product application

  • Use of compressed air improves health and safety in the workplace as the Heineken system does not require venue employees to handle heavy barrels or gas canisters
  • Using compressed air to squeeze the in-liner means the beer is of optimal quality
  • Oil-less compressors offer low noise levels, reliability, long life and low maintenance
  • Receiver tanks are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel to avoid corrosion and ensure high air quality
  • Units feature a cooling system and wear-resisting piston rings
  • They are designed for 100 per cent continuous operation up to 10 bar maximum pressure
  • Gast says its 82R rocking piston provides up to 27 per cent better performance at maximum duties, 47 per cent higher power efficiency and 29 per cent less ampere load
