Saelig has launched two bench-top oscilloscopes – PDS8102T and PDS8202T – that are suitable for design, maintenance and laboratory use.

The 100/200MHz scopes offer a 2M data point record length, allowing great depth for investigating fast, intermittent pulses.

The two-channel scopes sample at 1Gsa/s and 2GSa/s respectively, and feature video trigger, auto measurements, 8in full-colour LCD display, XY mode, auto set, averaging, math functions, USB output, waveform storage, and a three-year warranty.

FFT functionality is also included for seeing spectrum information, as well as autoscaling and trigger hold-off.

Autoscale can automatically adjust the vertical gain, or the horizontal time base, or both together.

This is useful for circuit probing as the probe is moved from point to point on a circuit board, the display auto-adjusts for best trace presentation.

It functions in the same manner as autoset but instead of being a one-time function, it is active until turned off, keeping the hands free, FFT allows the user to instantly see the frequency spectrum of the signal under test.

Trigger hold allows the user to introduce a delay relative to the trigger point so that a different part of the signal can be seen.

PDS8102T and PDS8202T can automatically measure and display frequency and peak-peak/rms/mean values, but cursors can also be moved to make individual readings.

A built-in self-calibration facility improves measurement accuracy.

Video monitoring is also possible since the user can trigger on NTSC/PAL/SECAM line or field waveforms.

PDS8102T and PDS8202T offer on-board storage and USB output, making the PDS series a suitable choice for design, maintenance and laboratory use.

Features of the scopes include: manual cursor measurements; up to five automatic measurements; high-speed screen update; storage for up to four waveforms and set-up parameters; convenient serial interface with software; 400V (DC+AV peak) maximum input; and an optional rechargeable battery pack.

They also have multi-language capabilities and USB connection makes printing stored results easy.

With a 7.8in 640 x 480 colour LCD, the scopes are small and light enough to carry where they are needed.

Sensitivity range is 5mV/div~5V/div with maximum display of +/-50V.

Another useful feature is the ability to store four waveforms for comparison with live inputs.

A persistence control is available, which simulates old analogue scopes to compare slow-moving waveforms with previous scans.

X-Y display allows users to see phase changes.

A+B and A-B math capability is also included.
