BHR Group has announced its 20th International Conference on Fluid Sealing and organisers have issued a call for papers to be presented at the event.

Industry continues to demand the ever increasing capability that drives seal manufacturers to push the boundaries and develop new products.

The challenge remains for engineers across the process plant, industrial equipment, machinery and transportation systems sectors to deploy cost-effective and compliant solutions to complex fluid sealing requirements.

To do this they need informed knowledge about the latest developments and an understanding of how advances made in other industries may have significance in their own.

BHR Group’s 20th International Conference on Fluid Sealing will once again bring together leading experts to create the ideal forum for exchanging information on the latest products, techniques and systems.

Over the years the conference has established a reputation for presenting new developments and valuable insights into old problems.

It is also an ideal opportunity for knowledge transfer.

The organisers have issued a call for papers for presentation at the event, which will be held in Nottingham, UK, 7-9 October 2009.

The conference will encompass all kinds of sealing devices from rotating to reciprocating seals, flange gaskets and the associated flange assembly techniques.

Contributions are welcomed for all types of elastomer and plastic seals, packings, gaskets, metal seals, pipe couplings, rotary mechanical seals or other types of novel solutions.

Assembly techniques are also covered including: cost of ownership and cost savings; leakage and emissions control; standards and legislation; health, safety and training; installation and assembly; seal life prediction; maintenance; novel seal designs and materials; surface coatings, treatments and tribology; and new fuels and lubricants.

Original case study and technical contributions are welcomed on all aspects of the design and application of fluid sealing across all industries.

The event is co-sponsored the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), the British Valve and Actuator Association (BVAA), the European Sealing Association (ESA) and Sealing Technology.
