Stowlin Croftshaw has announced that Bioact 105 has been approved by Rolls-Royce for maintenance and repair cleaning of aircraft engine components.

This complements a previous Rolls-Royce approval for OEM cleaning of engine components.

Bioact 105, a hand-wipe cleaner, has been selected for fast dry times and low environmental and safety impact.

It is used as a safe and low-cost alternative to isopropyl alcohol (IPA), methyl ether ketone (MEK), acetone and other toxic, low-flash point solvents.

It removes carbonaceous soils, heavy greases, lubricants, adhesives, paint overspray, silicones and waxes.

Bioact 105, a Petroferm product, offers good compatibility with substrates and materials used in aircraft MRO and OEM cleaning operations.

It is available in liquid and pre-saturated wipes.

Bioact 105 is also approved by Bell Helicopter, CFM Engines, GE Aviation, Gulfstream Aerospace, Pratt and Whitney and United Airlines.
