Bürkert Fluid Control Systems has introduced three new models to the 8681 range of intelligent valve control heads. Thanks to their stainless steel housings, IP67 rating and chemically resistant materials, the units are suitable for use in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

The 8691, 8685 and 8695 offer the same connectivity and functionality as the original model, but now fit (with model-specific adapter kits) a wider range of valves.

The smart valve control heads are suitable for decentralised automation applications in hygienic process environments. The ability to control pneumatic actuation, feedback and diagnostic functions, with the additional benefit of fieldbus communication, makes the valves useful in both new and retrofit scenarios.

The indexing of the valve position is performed by a contact-free analogue position sensor, which recognises and saves the valve end position through the ‘teach’ function when starting up.

Combined with an integrated restriction function, check valves and manual actuation, as well as high-powered coloured status LEDs, the control heads provide all key features required in a modern process control system. They enable complete, uniform control solutions to be implemented regardless of whether they are hygienic single-seat, double-seat or butterfly valves, or even fittings for auxiliary mediums such as steam, water or cleaning chemicals.

Products in detail

8691 valve control head

  • The 8691 controls larger-sized valves, extending the scope of the original 8681.
  • It retains high-intensity LEDs, its AS interface and its Devicenet communications capability.

8695 valve control head

  • The 8695 is designed for applications in hygienic process environments.
  • The valve control head features a compact design.
  • IIt is optimised for integrated mounting on Bürkert’s 21XX process valve series and with smaller actuator sizes.

8685 valve control head

  • The 8685 is available with an AS interface, as well as Devicenet communication.
  • It can be combined with actuator sizes Element 50 and Classic 40/50/63 or with third-party process valves.
  • When used in conjunction with Element actuators, the pilot valve system enables compressed-air recycling that avoids contamination of the actuator chamber from the local environment.
