Clitheroe Engineering has announced that it has undergone considerable expansion and has been accredited to the AS9100 quality standard.

A fourth horizontal machining centre, a Mori Seiki NH5000, was added to the Fastems flexible manufacturing system (FMS) in September this year, raising the company’s overall capacity by 15 per cent to 65,000 machine hours per annum.

‘The FMS enables us to eliminate programming and set-up costs when manufacturing a portfolio of parts for our customers,’ said Chris Wilkinson, a director of Clitheroe Engineering.

‘The benefits to our customers include lower prices and high-quality components.

‘Our key performance indicator for quality currently stands at 98 per cent, with virtually off-the-shelf delivery,’ he added.
