CML baseband processor offers audio processing

By CML Microcircuits on 15th October 200915th December 2015

Product Details Supplier Info More products

The CMX885 Marine VHF baseband processor is designed to meet the requirements of low-cost, integrated marine VHF transceivers by offering audio processing with selectable audio processing order.

According to CML, the product provides the complete marine world audio and signalling solution, with inband signalling capabilities including DSC, ATIS, DTMF, NWR WAT and SAME.

The CMX885’s embedded functionality also allows a very small, low power, low cost host microcontroller to be utilised as part of the overall marine VHF transceiver system.

Features include digital gain control, pre/de-emphasis, filtering, soft limiting and voice scrambling options.

Suitable for portable and fixed mobile transceivers, the CMX885 utilises dual Rx channel operation for DSC class D conformance.

The product also has a 1200bps Digital Selcall (DSC) modem with protocol support and an Automatic Transmitter Identification System (ATIS) modem, as well as NOAA weather radio decoding support.

Auxiliary ADCs, DACs and dual synthesised clocks are included.

A minimum of external components is required for the device that also offers flexible powersaving modes.

The CMX885 operates between 3.0 and 3.6V and is available in 48-pin VQFN and LQFP packages.

An evaluation kit (EV8850) is available from CML.
