Comark has launched a multifunctional interactive kiosk that is capable of dispending cards or printing on 8.5 x 11in (21.6 x 28cm) paper using an integrated wide-format thermal printer.

The Sphere kiosk is capable of supporting large peripherals and maintains a small footprint, taking up less than 2ft2 (1,860cm2) of floor space.

The kiosk is constructed of heavy gauge steel for durability, with dual locking access doors to facilitate the installation and service of both the display and the lower peripherals.

Designed with a standard 19in LCD with an infrared touch screen and a stainless-steel keyboard, the kiosk can be configured with an integrated Comark computer or a small-form-factor desktop PC.

Custom painting and graphics are available for advertising requirements or to maintain brand recognition.

With ample space internally, a variety of peripherals can be integrated, including a proximity sensor, a camera, a licence, a passport or a credit card reader and a card dispenser, as well as a bill and coin acceptor.

The availability of these peripherals makes the Sphere suitable for motor vehicle registry self service, security and gift-card or photo multimedia applications.

Paul Laracy, self-service sales manager at Comark, said: ‘The Sphere is a perfect solution for applications needing the ability to print on wide-format thermal paper, without a large, clunky kiosk or separate box to do so.

‘This kiosk is well suited for human-resources applications, visitor centres, museums, amusement parks, sporting venues and many more,’ he added.
