Contrinex has produced a large range of miniature inductive and photoelectric sensors with standard, double and triple detection distances from devices as small as 4mm diameter.

The 4mm diameter sensor series has a long 2.5mm sensing range and is suitable for installation into tight spaces.

Contrinex also makes an inductive sensor that is 3mm diameter.

Despite being very small, these sensors have a long 1mm sensing distance and still include vital short circuit, overload and inverse polarity protection, plus an operation LED.

The stainless steel housing and hi-flex polyurethane cable make them suitable for harsh operating conditions.

Often for a photoelectric detection solution the only available option is to use fibre-optics linked with an amplifier, despite the fact that fibre failures can be the bane of manufacturing and are frequently the cause of costly stoppages.

As an alternative, Contrinex makes a range of 4mm diameter photoelectric sensors with diffuse or through beam formats in short stainless steel housings.

The initial cost of these compact photoelectric devices is less than a fibre and amplifier arrangement and there is no need to find a safe location to mount an amplifier.

The connecting cable of these self-contained products can be turned through a much tighter radius than a fibre and so they can be more easily embedded and protected, whereas fibres remain vulnerable to snagging and breakages.

The diffuse sensors have a long 50mm sensing range and a through-beam set-up of 250mm.

Both of these long sensing distances help to ensure reliable part detection in production environments.
