Creaform has announced the release of VXelements, its all-in-one 3D data-acquisition software that powers its entire fleet of 3D scanning and measurement technologies.

The software platform allows for the acquisition of 3D data from technological solutions developed by Creaform, including the Handyscan 3D range of laser scanners and the Handyprobe/C-Track line of optical CMM.

VXelements consists of three software modules: VXscan, VXprobe (formerly HPS) and VXtrack.

The software combines these tools into a unified working environment, while adding new functions and capabilities to previous software versions.

VXscan can now thoroughly scan any part at any given resolution, within a scanner’s range, without any limitations due to part size.

It also offers a user or multiple users the possibility to merge the scans and reconstruct surfaces using different session files.

The software also has an automatic hole filling feature.

VXprobe retains all the functions of the preceding version but now shares the same integrated interface as the other modules.

The VXtrack module adds dynamic tracking capability to the C-Track line of dual camera sensors.

It can now record 30 3D images per second of a reflector or sets of reflectors in real time for the study of a variety of applications involving motion tracking.

According to Creaform, the analysis of movement, acceleration, vibrations, assembly processes, robotic performance and biomechanics is now easier with VXelements.

The module offers a graphic interface to interact with the results or users can export the result files in the most common formats.

VXtrack will be sold separately, while VXscan and VXprobe is delivered with every Handyscan 3D or Handyprobe.

The VXelements software will be available from 13 October 2010.
