Cutwel has launched the Korloy Rich Mill RM8 45-degree face milling cutter.

Cutter diameters range from 50mm to 160mm, and a double-sided high-rake insert makes it possible to use eight cutting edges.

Inserts have a high-rake chip breaker with a positive setting angle, allowing high surface finishes to be achieved.

A strong, thick cutting insert reduces tip breakage, allowing high feed rates.

The insert geometry allows the cutter to be used on low-horsepower machines.

It has a smooth, deep cutting action and low cutting loads with high feed rates.

Through-coolant on cutter body offers longer tool life, due to direct cooling of the insert and good swarf evacuation.

With eight edges per insert, there is no need for stocking lots of inserts.

Grade varieties for cutting different materials include: steels – PC3525vc (m/min), 150-300fz (mm/t), 0.1-0.35; steels – PC3545vc (m/min), 130-250fz (mm/t), 0.1-0.35; stainless steel – PC9530vc (m/min), 120-180fz (mm/t), 0.1-0.35; cast iron – PC6510vc (m/min), 150-300fz (mm/t), 0.1-0.35; aluminium – H01 polished vc (m/min), 180-500fz (mm/t), 0.1-0.4.

Full technical back-up is offered on insert selection, speeds feeds and recommended depths of cut.
