Danobat has introduced the VG series vertical grinding machine for grinding medium/heavy parts such as transmission gears, aircraft engine stators and other components.

The machine is equipped with two independent slides: on the longitudinal slide is mounted the rotary table with the C axis and the vertical slide, to which either a grinding spindle or the B-axis is fitted.

On the VG series the transmission of the table and vertical slide is carried out by double ball screw with two servo motors and a linear scale.

This guarantees their symmetry and a homogeneous movement of the table and vertical axis.

The rotary table and the turret are driven by direct drive torque motors, and the position of the table is controlled by an encoder fitted to the rotation shaft.

The rotary table is assembled on a hydrostatic bearing with constant pressure, which enables radial tolerances under 2 micron and vibration absorption, which guarantees a surface finish under 0.3 micron Ra.

This bearing is said to eliminate the friction during rotation, assuring the perfect performance of the bearing during the whole machine life.

The options for the machine include measuring devices for pre-, in- and post-process measurements, multi-spindle turret, tool magazine with automatic tool changer, and so on.

Rotary tables are from 500mm to 2000mm diameter and 500mm to 1000mm height capacity of component for the range of this model.

The HG-62 heavy duty grinding machine completes the HG range of universal machines.

The range includes three models with distance between centres of 1000, 1500 and 2000mm, with a centre height of 225mm for parts weighing up to 500kg.

The basic configuration of the machine includes a straight or angular approach 760mm diameter x 100mm wheel; a machine with a B-axis and multiple wheel configurations is available as an option.

The machine concept is developed to accept different accessories such as positioning, clamping and driving systems, including the MDM absolute, in- and post-process measuring equipment manufactured by Danobat.
