Datasound Laboratories has launched the ACS-2663, a low-power fanless computing platform designed to withstand the rigours of industrial applications.

The ACS-2663 is packaged in a heavy duty steel chassis with aluminium flutes, which act as a heatsink, and brackets for wall/bulkhead mounting.

It uses the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor supported by up to 2GB DDR memory.

A choice of operating systems is available to suit most application requirements, according to Datasound Laboratories.

The inclusion of either Compactflash or a 2.5in Sata HDD bay storage option enables the use of a desktop operating system (for example, XP Pro), an embedded operating system such as XP Embedded (free pre-installation included) or any other x86 operating system.

High-speed networking is catered for by two 10/100/1000 LAN ports while other connections are catered for by the four USB 2.0 ports suited for a range of add-on peripherals, two RS232 ports (one 422/485) and independently driven CRT/DVI graphics interfaces.

PS2 keyboard and mouse, line-in, line-out and MIC-in are standard.

Measuring 225 x 204 x 80mm and weighing 4.5kg, the ACS-2663 uses an 11-32VDC input voltage and has a stated operating temperature range of -20C to +60C.

For installations requiring application-specific expansion, another new model in the Datasound Laboratories range of box PCs, the ACS-2664 provides all the features of the ACS-2663, plus a PCI slot.
