Partmaker 2013 R2 from Delcam features improved four- and five-axis simultaneous milling strategies (known as ASM-MX or Advanced Surface Machining — Multi-Axis) that can be added across the entire Partmaker CAM suite, including Partmaker Mill, Turn-Mill and SwissCAM modules. ASM-MX also features the Spine Finishing machining strategy, which is suitable for the dental implant industry.

All Partmaker-ASM-MX’s machining algorithms that the software is based on are developed in house by Delcam. The strategies are based on the same approach to multi-axis programming used in the Powermill CAM system for the manufacture of complex shapes.

Spine Finishing can be used in either four- or five-axis simultaneous operations and is suitable for machining parts with complex curves, such as angulated abutments found in the dental implant industry.
