DFI has launched a Mini-ITX form-factor motherboard offering low power consumption and a high performance for compact embedded systems.

This CA100-D model utilises the Intel GM45 graphics memory controller hub and Intel ICH9M Southbridge, supporting second-generation Intel Core 2 Duo processors and the Intel Celeron 575 processor with up to 1,066MHz FSB and Intel 45nm transistor technology.

This Mini-ITX motherboard supports up to 8Gb of DDR3 800/1,066MHz dual-channel system memory, two Realtek RTL8111C-GR PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controllers, an UltraDMA/100 controller accepting two IDE devices, a VGA port, a DVI port and a 24-bit dual-channel LVDS display interface.

The CA100-D also provides four Serial ATA ports with speed up to 3Gb/s, eight USB 2.0/1.1 ports, two Serial COM ports and high-definition audio support with S/PDIF input/output (I/O).

Additional features include an Intel GMA 4500 graphics accelerator with DVI, VGA and LVDS interfaces with dual-independent display capability.

The integrated Intel GMA4500 graphics engine supports DirectX10 and OpenGL 2.1 for 2D, 3D and video applications, making it suitable for developers of industrial or embedded relative applications.

This CA100-D motherboard features one PCI Express x1 slot for networking and Raid cards and one PCI slot to support legacy card functions.

The CA100-D Mini-ITX platform includes Intel Trusted Execution Technology (Intel TXT), providing hardware-based circuitry to protect the confidentiality and integrity of data stored or created on the client PC against software-based attacks, and Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT), which provides maximum system utilisation by consolidating multiple IT environments onto a single server or workstation.

Intel VT simplifies IT resource management by offloading workloads to system hardware, providing better system reliability and availability, with lower hardware acquisition costs.

This embedded motherboard has a product lifecycle of five or more years and is designed for applications requiring a stable revision-controlled platform.

The CA100-D mobile motherboard is suitable for use in a range of embedded applications, including gaming machines, ATM machines, industrial control automation, digital signage, medical equipment, telecommunications, transportation, network appliances and security.
