norelem’s range of V-belts and V-pulleys ensure transmission systems run smoothly and efficiently with high power transfer. Designed to be used with belt or chain drives, the range can withstand and transfer high torque and friction.

Easy to install and maintain, norelem’s range of V-belts are available in several sizes and are suitable for applications where power needs to be transferred within machines, including automotive components, household appliances such as washing machines as well as industrial machines.

norelem’s V-belts all come with a trapezoidal cross-section, providing high contact pressure to enable the transfer of higher torques in a smaller space than possible with flat belts. The ability to minimise tension enables engineers to reduce maintenance and replacement of the bearings used within the application over time.

Made out of neoprene with a polyester tensile cord, norelem’s range of V-belts are available in two different forms DIN 2215 and DIN 7753. DIN 2215 is available with external lengths from 463mm to 5038mm and three different versions. norelem’s range of V-belts meet ISO 1813 standards due to their electrical conductivity and can withstand temperatures between -55°C to +70°C. While they are resistant to oil, it is recommended avoiding permanent contact with mineral oils and grease for longer life.

For engineers requiring a higher transfer of power, norelem’s narrow V-belts (DIN 7753) are an ideal solution with their greater depth to width ratio and additional teeth, placing more of the sheave directly under the reinforcing cord of the belt. Available in three different widths, with external lengths ranging from 524mm to 5022mm and three different versions, the norelem narrow V-belt can withstand temperatures from -55°C to +70°C.

The final element in norelem’s range include V-belt pulleys. Made out of grey cast iron, these components have a conical bore for taper clamping bushes, which are required for mounting the V-belt pulleys on a shaft. They are designed for a maximum circumferential speed of 35 m/s and are available in 12 different forms.

Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem, said, “V-belt drives have long been used by engineers due to their unique shape making it easier to keep fast-moving belts in place as they are wedged into the sheave groove. Easy to install and maintain, our range of V-belts and V-belt pulleys are readily available to keep power transmission systems running smoothly and efficiently.”

Engineers can find the components in norelem’s definitive catalogue, THE BIG GREEN BOOK. Datasheets and CAD drawings are available online, and can be ordered directly through norelem’s web shop.

About norelem

norelem is a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of flexible standard parts and components for mechanical engineering. The company supplies 60,000 standard products relating to standard machinery and operating elements, as well as automation components.

All these components are detailed in THE BIG GREEN BOOK, norelem’s ideas catalogue and a reference book, ninety-eight per cent of these parts are available from stock, and the business delivers on-site technical support for products. This high level of inventory enables norelem to provide fast and reliable delivery.

THE BIG GREEN BOOK is both norelem’s ideas catalogue and a reference book, and has become the norelem trademark. More than just a standard product catalogue, THE BIG GREEN BOOK represents everything norelem stands for, combining product information, specifications, and technical information, with best practice references, advice, and guidance.

The 2020 version of THE BIG GREEN BOOK is in fact now so big and so comprehensive that it is split into two volumes. You can request the bumper, two-volume print or USB version including 3D CAD data by emailing
