GYS has introduced the Gysmi 146 DV (dual voltage) and Gysmi 196 FV (flexible voltage) MMA/TIG inverter-based welding machines.

These are suitable for general industrial welding, site work, hire market, stadium maintenance and the agricultural industry.

The Gysmi 146 DV is a dual-voltage 140A MMA and TIG welding machine that automatically selects between 110 and 230V power supply, while the Gysmi 196 FV is a flexible-voltage 160A MMA and 190A TIG welding machine fitted with advanced PFC (power factor correction), enabling it to operate automatically on any voltage between 110 to 230V.

This feature automatically compensates for power losses and variations due to generator performance or extra-long extension cables being used.

Both machines have the IP23 protection ratings as befits machines intended for outside use.

Both of these single-phase micro-processor controlled machines feature: excellent arc characteristics; adjustable hot start, making the start of MMA welding on thin materials (low hot start) and difficult-to-weld dirty or oxidised materials (high hot start) that much easier; adjustable arc force for improved penetration and to avoid electrode sticking; and lift arc for easy-to-start TIG welding while preventing tungsten inclusions.

The Gysmi 196 FV also has an adjustable downslope for high-quality TIG welding.

High duty-cycle enables the Gysmi 146 DV to be used with 1.6 to 3.2mm diameter basic electrodes, including stainless steel, cast iron and mild steel electrodes; the Gysmi 196 FV can be used with either rutile or basic 1.6-4mm diameter electrodes, including mild steel, stainless steel and cast-iron electrodes.

Both machines can weld up to 45 x 3.2mm electrodes per hour.

Both machines have easy-to-operate and read digital-control panels and are supplied with a sturdy carry case, electrode holder and welding cable.

Four-metre-long TIG torch kits are available as an option.
