Showers and Eyebaths Services has introduced the GFTS15AY model — a 1,500-litre capacity arctic tank shower with spring-loaded doors that is suitable for external use in temperatures of -40°C to +40°C.

The GFTS15AY has an integral eyebath, which can be operated by the user at the same time as the shower and guarantees the delivery of 15 minutes of tepid water at a minimum flow rate of 76 litres a minute, regardless of the incoming supply.

The water supply is contained in a header tank and controlled at a nominal 17–18°C with its own robust heating element. This keeps the water temperature below the threshold of Legionella, thereby eliminating its proliferation.

Key features and benefits

  • The GFTS15AY is manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials.
  • The 1,500-litre capacity arctic tank shower is manufactured in bright yellow, green or white.
  • Optional extras include a flexible handheld eyewash, flashing alarms and sirens or an external lamp.
  • The shower meets fully regulated health and safety standards.
  • It is both BSP and NPT compatible.
  • The 1in (2.5cm) stainless threaded inlet and a 2in stainless threaded outlet on the back of the unit make it compatible with worldwide standards.

Showers & Eyebaths Services is a global leader in the bespoke manufacture of emergency safety showers and eyebath/facewash equipment, providing solutions to employee safety while ensuring compliance with regulations is maintained.

Worldwide there is an ever-increasing demand made on the health, safety and welfare of employees as well as oil and petrochemical industries seeking more inhospitable and remote environments in which to extract natural resources. Therefore Showers & Eyebaths Services has developed the technology and specialist engineering skills to design and manufacture emergency showers that provide a guaranteed 15 minutes of tepid water as stipulated by ANSI Z358.1-2009 and that are ideal for external use from -20ºC to +40ºC. Its arctic units are GOST approved and are certified for temperatures ranging down to – 40ºC and up to +40ºC.

Importantly, water contained in the header tanks of the Showers & Eyebaths’ tank showers can be controlled at a nominal 17–18°C with its own robust heating element, keeping the water temperature to below the threshold of Legionella thereby eliminating its proliferation.
