Emerson Process Management has launched Roxar’s RMS 2010, the latest release of the reservoir modelling system (RMS), which features various improvements across the entire workflow.

Within the Roxar modelling suite, users can build models for any reservoir.

They can also estimate reserves, plan wells and simulate past and future production.

In this way, users can do everything they need to produce maximum performance from their reservoirs, regardless of geology, location or complexity, according to the company.

The new well correlation system within RMS 2010 facilitates well picking and geology tracking, providing a smooth start to the modelling workflow.

The enhanced structural modelling tool comes with an improved workflow for well correlation, isochore generation and horizon modelling.

Structural modelling in RMS has all the functionality needed for generating models for any reservoir.

The RMS 3D Gridder has been made more robust, with the result far closer to geological reality than previous techniques have managed, according to Emerson.

The property modelling tools have also been extended in RMS 2010 to include multipoint statistics and improved methods for combining seismic interpretations with the advanced modelling algorithms to achieve data-matched models.

Roxar’s RMS comprises 13 fully integrated software modules, including mapping, reservoir modelling, well planning, reservoir simulation and uncertainty modelling tools.

RMS 2010 continues to operate on Linux 64-bit, Windows XP and the Vista 32- and 64-bit platforms, as well as the Windows 7 64-bit platform.
