Fast cycle impingement tank cleaners

When cleaning tanks and other similar storage vessels, spray balls are acknowledged as being an inexpensive, yet effective way to clean tanks. However, with industry more focused than ever on energy-efficiency and increasingly aware of whole-life costs, it has to be said that spray balls are very water inefficient.

Despite their inefficiencies spray balls are still commonly seen as the preferred choice for cleaning small tanks with lighter residue. This is due, in part, to the logic that more expensive, powerful tank cleaners, such as impingement cleaners, are overkill and therefore not justified for less challenging tank cleaning applications. This logic, however, is now being challenged thanks to the introduction of a new breed of very fast cycle impingement cleaners (FCIC) such as the Orbtior Eco from the Spray Nozzle People Group.

Based on their innovative design the new Orbitor Eco models are still powerful impingement cleaners but rather than being geared for maximum power they are instead configured for maximum speed and water efficiency. Some sacrifices in jet length and cleaning strength are made but the new machines can complete a cleaning cycle in under two minutes with flow rates as low as 45 litres per minute. When compared directly to spray balls the new Orbitor Eco offers:

A greater cleaning power despite its faster cycle time
A bigger range of cleaning (up to 10m diameter)
Reduced water consumption per cycle by up to 95 per
Significantly reduced cleaning cycle time (five minute eco-cycle, compared to a typical 30 minutes spray ball cycle, depending on the residue.
Ability to operate at similar pressures (2-3bar)

In addition to the operational benefits of these new fast cycle impingement cleaners the process of installing them to replace existing old style spray balls is relatively simple.

For example, the Orbitor Eco will fit through a 100 mm opening and can operate at pressures as low as 2-3 bar with flow rates as low as 45 litres per minute. Furthermore, the availability of universal fittings, connectors, a range of threads and where required, adaptors,  it is likely that in many cases existing tanks, pumps and pipework will not need to be changed significantly.

With the potential for water savings of up to 95 per cent and cleaning cycles reduced to a few minutes, the return on the initial investment will be measured in a matter of weeks for many businesses.

Our history
Our business started in 2000 as Bete Ltd  a joint venture with Bete Fog Nozzle (a leading US manufacturer of spry nozzles) to start with the Bete brand was the only product we sold. Over the years we have added other nozzle brands to our range and have expanded the territories that we represent Bete Fog Nozzle in to include France and Spain.

As we expanded our products beyond the Bete brand it became sensible to change the trading name of our company to The Spray Nozzle People. The Bete brand remains absolutely core to our offering and Bete Fog Nozzle Inc. still retain a 20% stake in our business

Our philosophy
To offer a high quality, comprehensive product line with added value – the highest possible standard of service, technical knowledge and expertise. At SNP we are committed to maintaining our leadership role by the introduction of new products, improvement of overall efficiencies, and above all – by listening and responding to our customers’ needs.

What we sell
Our standard range of industrial spray nozzles consists of thousands of different options in many different materials including; Brass, Stainless Steels, Hastelloy, Stellite and Tantalum. However, over 65% of production is geared to custom solutions.

Added to this is our range of economical, customised, non-corrosive nozzle systems, couplers and adaptors in PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, PVDF and Stainless Steel that are ideally suited (although are in no way restricted) to pre-treatment applications. But what we really sell is our expertise in spray nozzles. We advise our customers as to which of our products will be optimum for their specific spray application.
