The SC8400 and SC6500 thermal-imaging cameras from Flir Advanced Thermal Solutions are designed for use by scientists and research and development professionals working on demanding applications.

The compact cameras — which provide high-definition images of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels — reveal the faintest of thermal anomalies and allow users to see small details.

The SC8400 and SC6500 imagers are able to detect temperature differences smaller than 25mK (18mK typically). They can measure temperatures of up to 3,000ºC with an accuracy of ±1ºC or ±1 per cent.

The SC8400 camera offers an adjustable frame rate of up to 100Hz full frame, while the SC6500 camera has an adjustable frame rate of up to 125Hz full frame. Both can deliver images at a speed of up to 3,000Hz.
