Sierra Instruments has introduced the Smart-Trak 50 series of medium-flow controllers, offering a maximum flow range of 200slpm.

The 200slpm controller is designed for OEMs requiring a higher mass flow control capability and advanced performance at a price point that meets their budgetary constraints, according to the company.

In contrast to the many wetted parts of CMOS and MEMS flow sensors, Sierra uses its 316L stainless steel platinum-wound capillary sensor technology to ensure reliability, repeatability and accuracy.

Both analogue and digital inputs and outputs are available, enabling the 50 series to work with older analogue systems or the newest multi-drop digital tools.

Key specifications

  • 50 series builds on the same core sensor, LFE and valve technology found in Sierra’s Smart-Trak 100 series
  • It offers a standard accuracy of +/-1.5 per cent of full scale that works for nearly all common semiconductor purge and carrier gases
  • Direct-acting frictionless-hovering control valve helps to minimise leak-by, while offering +/-0.25 per cent repeatability
