Cedrat claims that its Flux software can help designers to compute the magnetic pressure inside the devices of electric vehicles in order to reduce overall noise strength.

Vibro-acoustic noises in electric vehicles are generated by electric devices (such as the traction electric motors) and their control and driving systems. Designers have to be able to compute the magnetic pressure inside the devices in order to evaluate the amount of forces that will be propagated in the whole considered structure.

The impact of design variables on the vibrations and noises, which are generated in the structure, has to be evaluated. To do that, vibro-acoustic sensitivity analyses have to be performed. One of the latest functions developed in Flux is a specific environment dedicated to vibro-acoustic analysis.

According to the company, Flux 2D/3D allows the fast and reliable computing of the magnetic forces. Before exportation, users will be able to display and control the suitability of results in Flux. After that, the magnetic forces and their associated harmonics can be easily exported to software tailored to the vibro-acoustic as MSC Nastran and LNS Virtual Lab.
