Rocol has introduced Purol, a food-grade grease that also acts as a release agent for use on meat processing machinery parts that come into direct contact with food, such as blades on slicers.

Purol is the company’s first NSF-H1 and 3H registered food-grade grease designed to deliver total safety assurance and cost savings through improved production efficiency.

Developed in response to increasingly strict auditor requirements from the major supermarkets, the European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS) and British Retail Consortium (BRC), Purol is a food-grade grease that also acts as a release agent for use on meat processing machinery parts that come into direct contact with food such as blades, guides, bearings and seals on mincer plates, mixers and slicers.

The product’s unique food-safe formulation helps engineers maintain equipment to a high standard, offering an alternative to rapeseed or vegetable oils.

Purol ensures compliance with critical safety standards while simultaneously keeping production downtime to a minimum.

Rocol state that, in addition to the product-specific NSF-H1 and 3H registration, meat processors have peace of mind in the knowledge that Purol is manufactured by an ISO 21469:2006 certified company, which means it has been subjected to stringent and rigorous hygiene and safety testing.

Through a team of UK-based technical support staff and service engineers, Rocol delivers flexible and responsive support across all areas of lubrication management through its comprehensive Rocolcare programme.

Purol has a wide operating temperature range from -10C to +110C and is supplied in 370g cartridges and 4kg tins to allow for easy and targeted application manually, or through using a gun or pump.
