On Your Guard – March 11 - .PDF file.

Procter Machine Guarding has updated its publication, ’On Your Guard – A Designer’s Guide to Machinery Guarding Standards’, to reflect recent changes to standards.

It now includes one of the key machinery safety standards, EN ISO 12100:2010 (Safety of machinery – General principles for design – Risk assessment and risk reduction), which combines the previous versions of EN ISO 12100 and EN ISO 14121-1.

The guide features an extensive table of British, European and International standards relating to machine guarding, which has been revised to reflect numerous recent changes.

Further changes in the eighth edition of the guide include updated lists of useful resources and sources of further information.

This latest edition retains the background information about the current machinery safety regulations and their relationship with the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, together with that directive’s new requirements relating to CE marking of machinery and guarding.

Procter Machine Guarding recommends the guide to anyone responsible for specifying, designing, installing or maintaining machine guards, whatever the type of machine as defined in the Machinery Directive.
