Master Chemical has launched Trim OG223, a heavy-duty metalworking oil that is aerospace compliant and suitable for grinding hardened steel alloys, stainless steels and inconels as well as titanium.

The company said that an advantage of the oil is that it grinds titanium as well as, or even better than, heavily chlorinated grinding oils.

This is particularly relevant to manufacturers of aerospace fixings, where the use of chlorinated oil with active sulphur additives is not an option as it can compromise the life of the part.

Formulated as a medium-to-heavy duty grinding oil, Trim OG223 can also be used to machine all materials, including yellow metals, in high-pressure applications.

This low-odour product contains a good extreme-pressure additive package for efficient metal removal.

Its hydrocracked base oil is responsible for a very high flash-point and low-misting characteristics.

Trim OG223 is low foaming, exhibits good oxidation stability and is fully compatible with copper-containing alloys.

Designed to be used neat, Trim OG223 is available in 204-litre drums, 1,000-litre IBCs or in bulk quantities.

The Coolant Management Company

Master Chemical develops and markets a comprehensive metalworking fluid
programme.  Its products are cutting and grinding fluids, cutting oils,
washing and cleaning compounds and rust preventatives.  They are all
marketed under the brand name, TRIM.

Since 1990 Master Chemical Europe has provided a dedicated sales and
manufacturing service for Europe.  In that time it has also become the
centre of excellence for product development to meet the specific production
needs of European manufacturers.

Its research has led to the introduction of a range of water- and vegetable
ester based formulations that are non-hazardous yet offer superb production
performance.

The need for this type of metalworking fluid is driven by EU regulation and
as a result Master Chemical Europe is now the leading manufacturer of
application-specific metalworking fluids.

When used in conjunction with Master Chemical’s trademark coolant management
strategies, these products provide optimum productivity and significant
operating cost reduction.

To provide greater capacity for this work the company recently moved to new
premises that include a laboratory that is three times bigger than its
forerunner.

Master Chemical Europe is now responsible for supporting an ever-expanding
distributor network, extending from Portugal in the south to Russia and
Scandinavia in the north and east.
