Henkel introduces Loctite Health and Safety range of silicones suitable for sealing flanges

Henkel has introduced the Loctite Health and Safety range of silicones suitable for sealing all kinds of flanges on pressed, cast and plastic parts, in any combination. The silicones are also effective, leak-free alternatives to pre-cut paper or cork gaskets.

The range comprises three products that meet the needs of the majority of under-bonnet sealing tasks, as well as a variety of industrial applications.

The first of the three is Loctite SI 5980 Quick Gasket, a black silicone designed for flanges that are in permanent contact with oil, such as oil pans, differential housing covers and timing chain covers.

The second is Loctite SI 5660, a grey silicone characterised by its long-term resistance to water and glycol. This product is suitable for sealing thermostats and water pumps. It provides good adhesion on many substrates.

The third is Loctite SI 5990, a copper-coloured silicone defined by its excellent temperature resistance of up to 350ºC for temporary exposure. It is designed for flanges in turbocharger housings and exhaust systems and for applications where resistance to water, glycol and oil is required.
