Hepcomotion has added a smaller-sized sealed linear actuator, ideal for high-volume and high-speed automation systems that manufacture or handle small components, to its SBD range.

The new SBD 15-60 extends the company’s range to three sizes.

Hepcomotion has secured export business with the SBD product and the new smaller-sized addition is expected to be used in the Far East.

The new product shares the key features and benefits of the existing SBD range but incorporates a Hepcomotion LBC15 linear ball guide.

It is a compact and clean linear solution as it incorporates a flush, metal cover strip that runs the length of the unit and houses the ball guide.

This prevents the ingress of dirt and debris, improving the longevity of the product.

Units are supplied in increments of 60mm up to 6,000mm in one piece and unlimited lengths can be achieved by joining the beams.

The SBD 15-60 is also available with a long carriage.

This option has two LBG bearing blocks in the carriage and a greater load capacity.

Re-lubrication of the ball guide carriage blocks is via an access point in the side of the beam that is resealed by a threaded plug.

In common with all Hepcomotion products, the SBD 15-60 is available in stainless steel as a standard option.

The product is fully compatible with the company’s MCS machine construction system, enabling it to be incorporated into any bespoke automation system or machine.

Designing a unique engineering principle and making it a commercial success is quite an accomplishment.  Developing that concept and embracing complementary technologies to the point where the business becomes a world leader in its field takes that achievement into a different league.  HepcoMotion has achieved both and in 2009 celebrates 40th year of trading.

Today HepcoMotion is one of the world’s foremost innovators and manufacturers of linear motion technology.  And this can be attributed to the important tenet – continued investment in its people processes and products.  This has allowed the company to grow even at times of economical difficulty.

Although its range of individual, linear motion products remains an important part of its business the growth area for HepcoMotion in recent years is in specials and assemblies.  Almost one fifth of its shop floor space is devoted to assembly and the company has invested heavily in flexible manufacturing to ensure that even last minute changes can be accommodated to customer specification.

Constantly re-assessing its strengths against changing market demands continues to provide HepcoMotion with the momentum for business growth.  The culture of ongoing investment has certainly worked well throughout its first 40 years and will continue to underpin its business in the decades to come.
