Herker Industries has acquired a Nakamura-Tome Super NTM3 CNC turning centre to further increase its capabilities.

This new equipment allows Herker to provide original equipment manufacturers with machined assemblies for a variety of end products, ranging from medical devices to agricultural equipment.

The Nakamura turning centre is one of eight machines acquired by the company in the last three months to increase horizontal and vertical machining capabilities and capacity for manufacturing custom-machined parts.

The additional equipment includes two Mori Seiki NH5000 horizontal machining centres, which provide a greater breadth of milling applications, according to Herker.

The Nakamura-Tome Super NTM3 PC-G is a CNC turning centre designed to increase productivity and decrease milling and turning production costs.

The three-turret multi-tasking machine achieves simultaneous production within one work centre, increasing the volume of repetitive machining to exacting accuracy.

The high-precision, tight-tolerance milling and turning of tough materials are said to be handled rapidly and accurately, even in hard turning applications.
