Jaguar Land Rover has reduced downtime on one of its factory robots by 66 per cent thanks to equipment from energy chain specialist Igus UK. 

Jaguar Land Rover was experiencing problems on a robot in its car factory caused by the cable management hose, which kept falling into the robot’s working range.

Igus recommend its Triflex RS six-axis robot energy chain, which has been developed specifically for applications in harsh industrial environments.

The compact system — which has been equipped with a new energy chain — pulls the energy lines back after every movement, keeping the working range free.
