Mirics, the developer of the FlexiTV software-based global TV receiver, has announced that Intel will deliver global broadcast TV through an upcoming Intel-branded PC motherboard.

This development has been achieved by enhancing Intel’s DH61AG desktop board with an integrated dual-tuner digital terrestrial TV mini-card.

Mirics will be previewing the technology live at its meeting suite at Computex 2011 in Taipei from 30 May to 4 June.

Intel’s DH61AG Mini-ITX motherboard is designed for multimedia entertainment.

The addition of the FlexiTV-powered MC002 mini-card, produced by Yuan High-Tech, enables digital terrestrial TV reception across all global standards via a single product SKU, through Mirics’ smart silicon and software solution.

Demonstrations at Computex 2011 will show the reception of live standard-definition (SD) and high-definition (HD) content from terrestrial broadcast sources.

Using standard playback software such as Windows Media Center, through the dual-tuner design, users can view and record multiple live TV stations simultaneously on PCs equipped with the motherboard and integrated mini-card.
