Kistler’s Kitorq torque measuring flange system is suitable for use in test rigs for electric motors, internal combustion engines, transmissions, pumps and compressors.

The robust system — whose standard flange geometry conforms to ISO7646, enabling straightforward installation — is offered with a choice of 500Nm, 1,000Nm, 2,000Nm or 3,000Nm measuring ranges, each of which has an accuracy class of 0.05 per cent of range.

In addition, it offers a torque signal bandwidth of up to 10kHz and an output speed of 60 pulses per revolution.

Kistler’s torque measuring flange system functions without an antenna ring and has an open stator design that is claimed to enable fast installation with a low risk of damage, as well as making the unit easy to inspect visually.

The universal stator may be used with any Kitorq rotor of the same speed rating and will recognise the rotor measuring range automatically. It also provides frequency, analogue and digital signal outputs that are fully scalable using either an RS-232 or USB interface.
