Laser Components’ fibre-optics customers can now benefit from anti-reflection coatings on fibres, which have a particularly positive effect in medical technology and material processing.

To minimise waste with expensive laser power when transmitting light along optical fibres, these coatings are said to significantly reduce coupling losses.

Such coatings have a particularly positive effect in applications where high-power sources are used.

Laser Components offers both assembled cables, including coated fibres, and job coatings on fibres supplied by the customer.

The company can process all types of fibres, from fused silica fibres (SM and MM) to sapphire fibres.

It is important that all materials used – for example, in buffers – be suitable for vacuum environments.

A range of AR coatings is available on a standard basis for optical fibres, including: single ARs – AR coating for one wavelength (for example, 808nm); dual ARs – AR coating for two wavelengths (for example, 808nm and 980nm); broadband ARs – AR coating for a wide wavelength range (for example, 460-700nm).

Customer-specific coatings are available on request.

Laser Components

The Laser Components Group was formed in 1986 and is located at six locations in Germany, France, UK, Canada and USA, employing more than 120 people worldwide. In-house production accounts for approximately half its turnover, with partner suppliers accounting for all other business.

Laser Components manufactures and supplies components, OEM modules, sources, optics and detectors, spanning the UV to the FIR.
