Laser Components is offering a selection of optical filters, including infrared (IR) bandpass filters in the range of one micron up to 20 microns.

The company’s IR longpass filters are constructed from stacks of thin layers, allowing for transmission between 60 and 80 per cent in the pass band and 0.1 per cent or less in the cut-off region, which extends into the X-ray range.

The IR semiconductor filters are absorption filters that rely on the electronic band structure of semiconductors. They exhibit long-wave pass characteristics and consist of coated, optically polished discs of semiconductors that are mounted in holders for protection, which allows for a very high rate of absorption in the suppression region.

The IR neutral density filters utilise a metallic coating that is responsible for the attenuation of light via reflection or absorption. They are suitable for use in the broadband attenuation of infrared radiation.
