Trotec Laser has introduced the Laser Remote app, which is designed to allow laser machine operators to control and monitor their flatbed lasers using their Iphones or Ipads.

The free app, which is available from the Apple App Store, gives the operator an overview of current jobs as well as the remaining engraving and cutting time. With its virtual working area, positioning of the laser requires only a tap.

Status messages on completed or pending jobs support an efficient workflow, while notifications about possible errors help to avoid production downtime and reduce the reject rate.

The app can be connected to a single machine or even several of Trotec’s Speedy machines. It is compatible with Iphone, Ipod Touch and Ipad from iOS 6.0 upwards.

Wi-Fi, Job Control X laser software and a compatible Trotec laser system are required, but a demo mode allows the user to test the app without a machine.

Key functions

  • Indicates whether the laser plotter is running or waiting for new jobs
  • Pauses running jobs
  • Switches the Trotec Atmos exhaust system on or off
  • Moves the laser head using the virtual keypad or guides the laser head by touching the working area
  • Provides information about the total and remaining processing time of a laser job
