Lanner Electronics has released the LEC-7900, an ultra-compact Intel Socket P embedded system designed for high-definition video applications.

The LEC-7900 utilises Nvidia’s Geforce 9 series GPU and delivers fluid video playback to dual displays without the need for an additional graphics card.

At the core of the platform is an Nvidia MCP79 chipset solution and Core 2 Duo Processor.

The MCP79 from Nvidia delivers good graphics performance capable of powering two full HD displays with low power consumption and minimal CPU overhead.

Equipped to handle both standard and high-definition video the LEC-7900 comes with two VGA ports as well as one HDMI port.

Other connections included are USB 2.0 (four), LAN, stereo line-out and two RS-232 COM ports.

The LEC-7900 supports one Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron M processor (socket P) and up to 4GB of dual-channel memory.

It includes one 2.5in drive bay that can be either be connected via Sata or used with a SSD drive.

The LEC-7900’s mechanical design is said to eliminate most moving parts and disperse heat away from the components to ensure reliable operation in harsh conditions.
