Intertronics supplies a comprehensive range of liquid dispensing equipment suitable for adhesives, inks, coatings, sealants, gaskets, greases, oils and many other fluids and pastes.

The company works with single-component materials, as well as two-or-more component materials, through a range of metering and mixing products from simple handheld guns to sophisticated four-axis dispensing robots.

There is also a full selection of dispensing consumable products, like dispensing tips, needles, barrels, syringes, guns, bottles, pens and mixing nozzles.

Intertronics has a range of benchtop robots that can be configured for automated dispensing, pick and place, screw-driving, track cutting, curing and so on.

It can configure and customise these robots with benches, enclosures, conveyors and integration.

Intertronics’ small benchtop robots have footprints approximately A4 in size and working areas of 200 x 200mm, with all the functionality of large machines.

Bigger versions cover 800 x 600mm, with a Z-axis of 200mm.

According to Intertronics, the robots are robust, fit for shop-floor use and programming is made simple with dedicated dispensing software.

They are suitable for dispensing applications where adhesives, sealants, encapsulants, potting compounds, coatings, inks, paints, greases, oils, solder pastes and son may be accurately metered onto workpieces, dispensed from barrels or cartridges mounted on the machine z-axis, or remotely located and fed through a robot-mounted dispensing valve.

Beads, coatings or micro-dots are common.

Metering and mixing equipment can be interfaced to dispense two-part systems.

One possible application is the dispensing of form-in-place (FIP) gaskets onto a component, which then cures into a soft sealing gasket.

The bead must be the same diameter over its entire length, and so the dispense needle travel-speed must match the FIP gasket flow rate, even around corners in three dimensions.

A robot can be programmed to do this, whereas a human would find it impossible.

The Tridak Micro-Dot from Intertronics features a positive-displacement thumb-operated action with simple stroke adjustment for volume setting from about 0.003ml to 0.200ml, enabling indefinite repetition with great accuracy, with a wide range of low-to-high viscosity fluids using Intertronics’ standard 10ml syringe barrels and smooth flow tapered dispensing tips to suit individual situations.

The company’s latest development in dispensing valves is the Fisnar DV509.

Intended primarily for medical applications, this is a lightweight diaphragm valve designed for precise flow control of low-to-medium-viscosity liquids on a continuous 24/7 basis.

The PTFE diaphragm separates the wetted parts from the air supply, meaning it is suitable for dispensing cyanoacrylates, reagents, UV adhesives, paints, inks, solvents, glues, electrolytes, alcohol and other volatile substances.

Variants with stainless steel and UHMW bodies/diaphragm are also available.

The DV509 can be used for dots, lines, arcs and circles for gaskets, potting, filling and shielding.

It features heavy-duty pneumatic operation that ensures flow rates up to 5ml/sec, as fast as 200 cpm, and with fine-tuned shot sizes down to 0.0001ml.
