Loctite 5610 is a two-part, fast-curing silicone adhesive designed for bonding glass, metals and ceramics, as well as most plastics and elastomers.

In many cases, there is no need for surface preparation.

It provides hot strength of up to 180C and it has the capability of resisting higher temperatures of up to 250C for short-term exposure.

Handling strength for Loctite 5610 is achieved within minutes.

Colin Chapman, marketing manager at Loctite brand products maker Henke, said: ‘Traditionally, standard single-part silicones are slow to cure, have limited cure through volume and their adhesion can be substrate dependant.

‘As well as being fast curing, this two-part product has unlimited cure through volume and gives good adhesion to a wide range of substrates without the need for a primer.’ Typical uses for the product include the bonding and sealing of glass and ceramic stove tops to appliance frames, securing brackets to the back of stove tops, bonding glass to microwave-oven doors and the sealing of washing-machine drums.

Aside the appliance market, Loctite 5610 can be utilised for cabinet and panel bonding and sealing, replacing gaskets and mechanical fixing, bonding glass to reflectors or frames and joining integrated electrical ballast.

Where automated dispensing is required, Loctite application equipment is available for use with Loctite 5610.
