Schneider Messtechnik optical and multi-sensor measuring instruments are suitable for use in small workshop microscopes, multi-sensor shaft-measurement systems and profile projectors.

Spectrum Metrology will display Schneider Messtechnik instruments at Mach (which will take place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 7-11 June 2010), including the VideoCAD 2D optical measuring device, which is suited to profiles made of plastic, aluminium, wood, rubber and metal as well as stamped parts of any kind.

The VideoCAD combines high precision and unbeatable speed at a practical price.

VideoCAD can be combined with dedicated measurement software to give bespoke measurements.

The software allows geometries to be recorded (lengths, diameters, radii and angles), CAD comparisons, 2D best-fit and prototype inspections.

A combination of transmitted and incident light ensures that all visible contours can be measured, even on parts composed of more than one type of material.

The ultra-high resolution optics on the VideoCAD ensure distortion-free measurement.

The VideoCAD system is an entry-level portable device for objects up to 80 x 60mm in size; VideoCAD3 is a larger system that can be integrated into the production process and measures objects up to 225 x 168mm.

Using the dedicated Saphir software, all measurement sequences can be pre-programmed to allow unskilled operators to carry out measurements at the touch of a button, giving a complete copy of the measurement object compatible with DXF files.

Further processing is then possible right up to the point of a VDA/ISO first sample-inspection report.

The WMM100 shaft measuring machine will also be on show; this benchtop model with touchscreen PC is ideal for fast measurement of shafts, rotating parts and tools up to 100mm in length and 60mm in diameter.

The full product range accommodates components up to 1,200mm in length (400mm diameter).

A CCD camera is integrated into the machine to enable high precision non-contact measurement of all types of cylindrical components.

This, combined with intuitive analysis software, makes the WMM100 powerful yet simple to use.

Spectrum will also launch a new Schneider instrument, the Digital Projector DP.

This inexpensive, compact projector gives ultra high-precision measurement.

Comprising of a CCD camera, touchscreen PC and a precise measuring stage, this tabletop design can handle components up to 20kg in weight and 200 x 100mm in size.

It is simple to use, giving quick dimensional measurement data through its intuitive software.
