Markem Imaje will show a number of coding and marking solutions Interpack, including the new 9232 and Smartdate X40 coders.

The new flagship of the 9000 inkjet series, the 9232 prints high-quality date codes, logos, alphanumeric text, 1D and 2D barcodes and other product and traceability information onto a range of substrates.

A new user interface features a 7in colour touchscreen designed to make set-up quick and easy while displaying clear, real-time data about machine status, ink usage and maintenance procedures.

The ink cartridges, now with an even longer lifespan, can be changed without mess and without stopping the coding operation.

A new ink circuit and print-head enables the 9232 to print at speeds of up to 6.6m per second, and a font height of up to 32 dots means print quality is excellent.

An optional ‘ultra-rapid’ print mode is available for extremely high-speed applications.

With a compact print-head and toughened umbilical line, the 9232 can withstand severe factory conditions.

Housed in an IP55 stainless-steel cabinet and requiring no plant air supply, the printer can be mounted vertically or on a tabletop so that it can be accommodated on almost any production line.

The new addition to Markem Imaje’s range of thermal transfer coders, the Smartdate X40, minimises ribbon consumption and maintenance requirements.

This helps customers control their coding costs while reducing their impact on the environment.

A new intelligent print head ensures a high and consistent print quality, and a more efficient ribbon format reduces waste and stoppage time.

Direct ribbon drive eliminates preventative and the cassette design has been improved to remove any wear parts.

The X40 coder can accommodate an increased ribbon length of 1,100m, which means fewer changeovers and increased uptime.

This results in an availability rate of up to 99.6 per cent without intervention.

The Smartdate X40 is controlled by either a monochrome graphic user interface or a colour touchscreen and incorporates a number of ribbon-saving features to suit all applications.

In addition to a 20 per cent reduction in ribbon waste, the coder features significantly lower power and air consumption as part of the company’s eco-initiatives.

Alongside the new printers at Interpack, Markem Imaje will be featuring a selection of the company’s coding, marking and automated labelling equipment for packaging and supply-chain applications.
