Trim Microsol 585XT data sheet - .PDF file.

Trim Microsol 585XT semi-synthetic micro emulsion from Master Chemical is suitable for high-performance machining applications in the aerospace industry. To extend the benefit of this type of formulation, the company has introduced Trim Microsol 515, which features all the characteristics of its forerunner without the premium aerospace performance.

Trim Microsol 515 is said to provide excellent lubrication without chlorinated or sulphurised EP additives and contains no diethanolamine (DEA), nitrates, phenolic compounds or formaldehyde donors.

Feedback from lengthy pre-release trials in Europe confirms Trim Microsol 515 is a very clean-running product with excellent multi-metal compatibility.

Many of the machine shops that tested the product were able to machine both cast iron and the most sensitive aerospace alloys, without the common problems of ferrous corrosion and aluminium staining. Extremely good bio-resistance and a low foam profile were also reported.

Key benefits

  • Trim Microsol 515 is suitable for machining all aluminium alloys and is compatible with all steels, yellow metals and cast iron.
  • It is extremely hard-water tolerant and reduces carry-off for low total operating cost.
  • Fast wetting gets the fluid to the point of cut quickly and keeps machines very clean.
  • As the emulsion fully coats work pieces and chip, superior corrosion prevention is assured.

The Coolant Management Company

Master Chemical develops and markets a comprehensive metalworking fluid
programme.  Its products are cutting and grinding fluids, cutting oils,
washing and cleaning compounds and rust preventatives.  They are all
marketed under the brand name, TRIM.

Since 1990 Master Chemical Europe has provided a dedicated sales and
manufacturing service for Europe.  In that time it has also become the
centre of excellence for product development to meet the specific production
needs of European manufacturers.

Its research has led to the introduction of a range of water- and vegetable
ester based formulations that are non-hazardous yet offer superb production
performance.

The need for this type of metalworking fluid is driven by EU regulation and
as a result Master Chemical Europe is now the leading manufacturer of
application-specific metalworking fluids.

When used in conjunction with Master Chemical’s trademark coolant management
strategies, these products provide optimum productivity and significant
operating cost reduction.

To provide greater capacity for this work the company recently moved to new
premises that include a laboratory that is three times bigger than its
forerunner.

Master Chemical Europe is now responsible for supporting an ever-expanding
distributor network, extending from Portugal in the south to Russia and
Scandinavia in the north and east.
