The DCX series of configurable DC drives from Maxon Motor can now be ordered online alongside the company’s GPX gearheads and ENX encoders. Combined, the DCX, GPX and ENX devices form a high-precision drive system suitable for applications ranging from aerospace to medical to robotics.

The new drives are said to be smaller and more powerful than competing products thanks to their optimised subassemblies and high-performance magnets.

Maxon claims that it has also developed new production technologies and improved existing processes. For instance, the 35mm-diameter DCX 35L has a speed/torque gradient close to that of the existing 40mm-diameter RE 40 DC motor.

The DCX 22 S features precious-metal or graphite brushes, can be equipped with standard preloaded ball bearings or sintered bearings and covers a large voltage range with six ironless windings.

All DCX drives can be configured on the internet and are available with short delivery times.
