Meggitt Sensing Systems has launched an ultra-high-sensitivity industrial seismic accelerometer for use in manufacturing environments and in floor isolation testing and photolithography applications.

The Wilcoxon Research Model 731A accelerometer is designed for measuring both seismic and ultra-low-level, low-frequency vibration on structures and objects.

Offered with a noise performance of 0.5ug rms and with a sensitivity of 10V/g, the new accelerometer incorporates the use of ultra-low-noise electronics for clear signals at sub micro-g levels.

The sensor is designed to operate over a temperature range of -10C to +65C (+14F to +149F) and includes an integral low-pass filter to eliminate high frequencies and to ensure greater measurement quality and reliability.

These attributes also help the Model 731A to be low-frequency capable.

Units include electrostatic discharge (ESD) and reverse wiring protection.

The Model 731A is supplied with mounting-stud and level-three calibration data.

Additional recommended accessories, sold separately, include the Model P31 power amplifier or the Model PR710 10-channel rack-mount power amplifier; the Model TC2 tri-axial mounting cube; and the Model J9/J9T2A cable with an R6-type mating connector.
