Michell Instruments has added the Easidew Pro IS to its range of Easidew dew-point transmitters.

The Easidew Pro IS, an intrinsically safe transmitter, is suitable for use in the natural gas, petrochemical and process industries.

A progression from the Easidew TX IS, the Easidew Pro IS is certified by Atex for use in Zone 0 hazardous areas, as well as for use with galvanic isolators.

The Easidew Pro IS is part of the Sensor Calibration Exchange Programme, which enables customers to maintain traceability through periodic recalibration while keeping the process in operation.

Being signed up to the programme means that customers can order a new sensor, install it and then send back the old one to Michell for recalibration at a fraction of the cost of completely replacing the sensor, with the added benefit of no downtime, according to the company.

All the calibration data is stored within the transmitter’s flash memory, meaning that calibration exchange, or service, can be affected in seconds, even by untrained personnel.

The Easidew Pro IS is disconnected, removed from its sampling block and replaced by a new, fully calibrated unit.

Specific applications include compressed natural gas dryers, hydrogen coolant in power generators and industrial gas manufacture and supply.
