Michell has introduced the XTP600 self-contained oxygen transmitter, which is claimed to make oxygen measurement in the process industry as simple as a field-pressure or temperature measurement.

While traditional paramagnetic oxygen analysers can suffer from drift, the company claims that, thanks to its latest thermo-paramagnetic technology, this new transmitter is almost drift free.

The XTP600 measures oxygen content between 0.01 per cent and 100 per cent using the latest developments in non-depleting thermo-paramagnetic technology.

With no moving parts, the transmitter can be sited directly in harsh industrial environments without any risk of interference from vibration.

The compact size and design of the XTP600 makes it suitable for installation next to the measurement point with no additional cost for extensive piping or frequent maintenance and calibration.

Hydrogen applications are known to cause sensor drift in traditional oxygen analysers.

With the latest thermo-paramagnetic technology, the sensor element of the XTP600 is stable even in high-hydrogen concentrations, according to Michell.

Available in an explosion-proof housing, the XTP600 oxygen transmitter can be mounted in hazardous areas, particularly in applications where, for safety reasons, a fast oxygen measurement is required.

Compensated for background gases, the oxygen transmitter can measure oxygen concentrations with an accuracy of less than +/-1 per cent FS.

Combined with the 24VDC power supply, further features – such as local display, two outputs and two inputs – make the XTP600 suitable for flexible and cost-effective oxygen measurement in a range of process-industry applications.
