Micro-Epsilon has expanded its Mainsensor series of magneto-inductive displacement measurement sensors with a slimline version featuring an M18 stainless steel housing for applications such as hydraulic valves, attenuators and subsea hydraulics.

The MDS-45-M18-SA offers a measurement range of 20–55mm, depending on the size of the magnet, and features a streamlined design that enables frontal pressures of up to 400 bar.

An additional groove around the housing enables the measuring system to be sealed with an O-ring, protecting the sensor from oil, seawater and other aggressive substances.

The Mainsensor — which operates on the magneto-inductive measuring principle — is claimed to provide high basic sensitivity, good temperature stability and maintenance-free, wear-free measurement.
