Micro-Epsilon has introduced a range of draw-wire sensors for high-volume OEM applications such as mobile cranes, fire-rescue vehicles, mobile working platforms and scissor lifts.

The MK88 Wiresensor, the latest addition to the company’s MK series of ‘string-pot’ sensors, is available in three measuring ranges — 2,300mm, 3,500mm and 5,000mm — and comes with an integrated cable, which can be changed to a connector if needed.

The device, which weighs just 400g including the cable, is suitable for all outdoor applications thanks to its IP65 protection rating.

It operates in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C, although a special version can be requested that works in temperatures as low as -40C.
