Two higher-resolution models — the TIM400 and TIM450 — have been added to the Thermoimager TIM range of infrared thermal imagers from Micro-Epsilon for applications such as automatic hotspot detection, research and development work, test cells and automated industrial environments.

The TIM400 and TIM450 are IP67 rated and can therefore withstand harsh industrial environments.

They can be easily integrated with existing plant automation and control systems.

Key features and specifications

  • The cameras stores thermal video and images at an optical resolution of 382 x 288 pixels at a full frame rate of 80Hz (80 images/sec)
  • They are equipped with detectors that provide thermal sensitivities of 80mK (TIM400) and 40mK (TIM450); this enables the detection of even smaller changes in temperature
  • USB camera weighs 320g (including lens) and measures 46 x 56 x 88mm
  • The new models are pre-calibrated with temperature ranges from -20°C to +900°C; this can be extended to 1,500°C
  • Cameras are provided with 30º or 13º aperture lenses
  • They are supplied with integral process interfaces for input and output of analogue and digital signals; open connectivity drivers are provided for software integration via DLL, Comport and Labview
  • TIMconnect software is featured as standard
  • Optional accessories include a water cooling jacket, a high-temperature USB cable, a mounting flange and an angled connector
