Micro-Epsilon’s Scancontrol 2710 series 2D/3D laser profile sensors are designed to measure the key and slot joints on sectional garage doors and on parquet and laminate flooring.

Door sections are opened and closed frequently and so a robust but permanently flexible key and slot joint is required. This is said to be particularly important where there are significant temperature fluctuations or inaccurate dimensions, which could result in the door being positioned incorrectly, making it difficult to lock.

The Scancontrol 2710-50 laser profile scanner can be used to measure the key and slot joints and its output unit enables the measurement data to be translated into the format required by the customer.

A datum point, to which all calculations and measurements are performed, is defined within the profile. These results are transmitted to the production line control room so that any deviations within the strip process can be compensated for.
